Dan Witz is a street artist and a Greenpoint, Brooklyn, resident who makes seriously beautiful, morbid, sophisticated and often hidden public works of art that can be found all over Brooklyn and several other U.S. cities.  Dan makes photorealistic paintings on steel and glues them to commercial and industrial exteriors that will seriously make you take a double take the first time you see one of his pieces.  They are often fake metal grates or windows with creepy people or body parts behind them as you can see by this piece below.

So, by word of mouth, from my friend Miss Heather (over at New York Shitty) I was informed that Dan is always looking for models for future work, but was especially looking for models with little inhibitions; enter the Brooklyn Imbecile.

When I got to Dan’s building, which was only a few blocks from where I live, there were no lights on and no one was answering the door.  I just sort of stood there and had a thought that this felt a lot like the beginning of a Law & Order episode where someone (me!) gets killed by some strange S&M dungeon master or something.  Did I mention that I knew there would be bondage involved with this photo shoot? Anyways, Dan came to the door and was very friendly and he was with his friend slash professional dominatrix; we’ll call her Madame X. It definitely felt a little awkward at first and I knew Dan was kind of checking out my energy and level of comfort, because I knew he wanted me to get naked and raunchy for him. And so I did. Within ten minutes I was in an adult diaper and nothing else, posing in a creepy basement with exposed brick and dark shadows.

It felt totally fine and I have no problem being naked around just about anyone.  I posed with the dominatrix in a few poses and on my own. There were times when I was totally naked and at some point when I was on my knees getting spanked by this woman, I came to the realization that grown men spend hundreds of dollars an hour to pay for this kind of treatment, so I may have pleasured myself a little bit here and there.  There was a moment where all I had on was fish net stockings and I suggested that Madame X tear the stockings off my body from behind. And although I don’t think it made a good shot for Dan, it definitely turned me on.  And there were definitely times, one insistence in particular, where I had to use the safe word (which was “cucumber”) because I was getting spanked so hard.  You know, it hurts and then the pain goes away and then it hurts again.. I understand the turn on, yet there’s no way I could stay hard getting beaten that way. Anyways.. we had a great time, a great shoot, Dan was very excited by the amount of good shots that he got, I got to be humiliated by some random woman with beautiful tits and in the end, I volunteered my body to the cause of good art. I walked home with smudged lipstick on my face and happy to have done such a random thing.  This is what living in New York is all about: art, sex, spankings & good times.
